I just talked to Kelly to see how Matthew was doing. Today is the first day he has been cheery and energetic. He is starting to sound like himself. He is quite excited that he got TWO teddy bears! and a car from his friend.
It sounds like it is going to be quite the healing process, sounds like he has medicine to combat side effects of the medicine to combat the side effects. But his IV is disconnected! The connection is still in, just in case but he is free from the tangle of wires.
They are going to try to be out of the hospital tomorrow and then they can hang out at Ronald McDonald house for a few days. There is much relief to be out of the hospital, they will be close by, but they will be out of the hospital.
